The 10th Anniversary edition of our family-friendly race event is taking place on 31st August 2026 (BH Monday)
Thank you to all 53 junior & 173 senior runners who took part in the 2025 fundraising event.
A BIG thank you also to our 'racemaker' volunteers - we couldn't hold the event without you.
Interested in being a Dash 'Racemaker'?
If you are not a runner but would like to be involved, we need lots of Dash 'Racemaker' volunteers to help with various tasks on race day (eg. registration, marshalling, timekeeping) as well as course preparation and baking flapjack & cakes ahead of race day. Donations of prizes (such as garden produce, bottles of wine/beer, chocolates and cakes) would also be very welcome.

Senior Race
The Senior Race is a 5.6 mile (9km) scenic and undulating course on footpaths through fields, woodland, conservation land and the historic Quaker Village at High Flatts with a total ascent of 700ft. The race is suitable for social as well as club runners - the route is marshalled and well marked. Optional fancy dress to celebrate 10th anniversary race.
Senior Race registration 9.30 —11.45am at The George Inn, Upper Denby, HD8 8UE
Senior Race start: 12 noon, behind The George Inn
Homemade flapjack for all finishers.
Senior prize giving: approx. 1.50pm
Prizes for all age categories and best fancy dress. Trophy for ‘1st local’ lady and man home.
Pre-entry only via Racebest - Entry fee £10. Minimum age 16 years.
Entries open 29th May and close at 8pm on Saturday 29th August.

Junior Races
There is a choice of two Junior Races, both starting and finishing at The George Inn :
Denby Gallop — for children aged up to 8 years (those under 6 yrs - to be accompanied by an adult).
A 1 mile (2km) scenic loop on tracks and fields with a steep 140ft climb followed by a fast gallop home.
The Pirate Ship Challenge — for children aged 9 - 16 years
A 2 mile (3km) course over fields and conservation land with a challenging 240ft climb up to the pirate ship before a fast return route home.
Junior races starting at 10.30am — with registration at 9.30am - 10.15am and prize giving at approx. 11.30am. Fancy dress optional.
Ice cream kindly provided by Yummy Yorkshire for all junior finishers.
Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd boy & girl in each race; also first U6 in Denby Gallop and first U10, U12, U14 and U16 for Pirate ship challenge.
Prize for the best fancy dress in each race.
On-line pre-entry via Racebest. Entry charge £4.
Entries open 29th May and close at 8pm on Saturday 29th August.
Children also welcome to enter on the day.

Refreshments: Hot & cold drinks & cake stall from 9.30am. Burgers from 10.30am. Also live music.
